Beginners

learn about the individual pieces of the sensors and motors system and how to code a simple single string of commands. Learn the basics of mechanics .. gears, levers, locks, pulleys, screws, springs, tracks, inclines ... to name a few. The projects will be chosen for them to guide them through the learning process. Students will be encouraged to attend a local lego show.

Intermediate

- refresh their knowledge of the robotics system, mix 2 to 3 parts together and code for loops and branches. Expand on the mechanical principles from beginners to include pneumatics and pressure gauges .. The projects will be chosen for them to guide them through the learning process. Students will be encouraged to attend a local lego show.

Advanced

use the full range of sensors, motors, transmitters, and programming for with many loops and branches. As well as present their pieces at a convention. Students will choose their projects and be guided through the building process.

Super Advanced

expanding the line of sensors, motors, transmitters, bells and whistles to use a Raspberry PI to control their creations. As well as present their pieces at a convention. Students will choose their projects and be guided through the building process.

More About This Course

Our Robotics + Engineering courses teach kids the basics of electrical engineering and programming as they design and build robots and gadgets. The Robotics & Engineering Academy immerses students in the fundamentals of mechanical and electrical engineering as they design, build, test, and program their robot to complete various challenges. Students will also harness the power of the internet as they create electrical gadgets that respond to internet data! Not only will students take home Arduino kits to experiment with, but the various projects that students complete can also be used in portfolios for college applications and internships long after camp ends.

The Teen Experience: Since 2002, Digital Media Academy has been encouraging and inspiring teens to become the next generation of developers, animators, filmmakers, photographers, designers, and engineers. In addition to developing teens’ interests and passions for the latest in new tech, our camps foster personal growth, confidence, and independence; preparing students for life beyond high school and college.
